Soroptimist is a global women’s organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through social and economic change. Approximately 80,000 Soroptimists in 130 countries and territories support community–based and global projects to benefit women and girls. Our primary efforts focus on providing women and girls access to education – the most effective path to self-determination.
The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what we strive to achieve.

The La Grande Club (SILG) was chartered on October 16, 1941 and is part of District 3 in the Northwest Region of Soroptimist International of the Americas.
