Celebrate Gal’s This Week

“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year.”

Since 2015, the female-friendly holiday that celebrates women and their gal-pals has become more and more popular. But what is this fake holiday? Who came up with it, and how do you celebrate?

“It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”

Galentine’s Day is celebrated  February 13. It’s a day to leave husbands, boyfriends and significant others at home to join other women and celebrate friendship.

Galentine’s Day was introduced to the world by the TV show “Parks and Recreation.”

The show called “Galentine’s Day,” features the lead Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, as she hosted a waffle-filled breakfast to celebrate the ladies in her life.

Although the show aired during the series’ second season, the tradition outlived the show even after it stopped production in 2015.

Galentine’s Day is one of the best days for gift-giving because women aren’t restricted to traditional Valentine’s gifts like chocolate, flowers, jewelry and teddy bears.

So while those are perfectly fine gifts to give your friends, Galentine’s Day gives gift-givers a chance to get creative: wine, waffle makers, instant pots, wine, etc.!

So get your favorite gal-pals rounded up and make a plan to celebrate on Galentine’s Day, February 13th – or, as the saying goes, make ANY DAY Galentine’s Day! Cheers!
